Almost every time I bake I think of Julia Child, especially when there are obscene amounts of butter involved. What I love about Julia are her great philosophies on food:
“Moderation. Small helpings. Sample a little bit of everything. These are the secrets of happiness and good health.”
I could never get on board with cutting out my favourite foods. It’s hard to be satisfied when you know you’re missing out on something that tastes wonderful… Not to mention that I was blessed with an incredible sweet tooth and very little will power. But that’s the beautiful thing about cupcakes. They’re small. It isn’t like you’re scarfing down an entire cake after supper.
I know Julia Child was speaking to trying a lot of different kinds of foods, but I advocate trying a lot of different kinds of cupcakes. Cupcakes are akin to variety. They can be decadent. Hearty. Sweet. Spicey. Fruity. And they’re always yummy!
